MACHINA: Know Your Ride (“MACHINA”, “the app”, “we”, “us”) is a motorcycle maintenance tracking app published by Kim Roland Berame. By downloading or using the app you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
How the app handles your data is described in our Privacy Policy.
MACHINA is a personal record-keeping tool. You enter your motorcycles, your service history, your fuel and odometer readings, and the app organises them, reminds you about upcoming maintenance, scores the health of your ride, and lets you export your own records.
MACHINA has no account and no server. Everything you enter is stored on your device.
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use MACHINA on devices you own or control, for your own use. You may not resell, redistribute, rent out, or reverse-engineer the app, or use it to build a competing product, except to the extent the law says you may.
Apps downloaded from the App Store are also subject to Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement: https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/ Where that agreement and these terms conflict on a point it covers, it wins.
MACHINA does not inspect your motorcycle. Everything the app shows — maintenance intervals, due and overdue reminders, the Health Report and its score, verdicts, confidence, severity and consequence text, cost estimates, fuel economy figures — is calculated from data you entered, using general assumptions. It is not a mechanical inspection, a diagnosis, or professional advice, and it cannot detect a fault on your actual machine.
Follow your manufacturer’s service schedule and owner’s manual, and have your motorcycle inspected and serviced by a qualified mechanic. Never rely on the app alone for anything affecting safety or roadworthiness. You are responsible for your motorcycle and how you ride it.
Maintenance reminders are scheduled as local notifications by your operating system. They can be delayed, suppressed, or never delivered — because notifications are off, the OS limits them, the device is off, or the app was uninstalled or reinstalled. Do not rely on MACHINA as your only reminder for anything important.
The records you create are yours. We do not hold a copy: there is no MACHINA server, no account, and no cloud sync.
That has a consequence you should plan for. If you lose your device, delete the app, or your data is corrupted, we cannot recover anything for you. Keeping backups is your responsibility. Use the app’s backup export and keep the file somewhere safe.
Restoring a backup replaces the data currently in the app. Rows the app cannot read are skipped. Restore deliberately, and only from a file you made.
The backup file is plain JSON — not encrypted, not password-protected — and contains your full garage, including your motorcycle photos. Anyone who gets the file can read it. Store and share it accordingly.
A service history PDF exported from MACHINA is generated from data entered by you. It is not verified, certified, or endorsed by any manufacturer, dealer, or service centre, and it is not an official service book, warranty record, inspection certificate, or proof of roadworthiness. It must not be used as the sole basis for a sale, valuation, warranty claim, or insurance claim. Entries may be incomplete or inaccurate; accuracy is your responsibility. Verify against original receipts and a physical inspection before relying on any figure in it.
If you give an exported file to someone else — a buyer, an insurer, a workshop — that is your decision and your responsibility.
MACHINA currently sells nothing. This version has no in-app purchases, no subscriptions, and no paywall — every feature is free, and no payment passes through us or any third party.
We may introduce paid features in a future version. If and when we do, the following will apply:
Features that are free today stay free for you. If we later put a feature behind a paywall, riders who downloaded MACHINA before that date keep their existing access at no cost.
Use MACHINA lawfully. Do not attempt to break, probe, or abuse the app or the services it relies on, do not tamper with purchase or entitlement checks, and do not use the app to store or distribute unlawful content.
The app is provided as-is and evolves. We may ship updates over the air, change or remove features, and require a minimum app or OS version. We do not guarantee that MACHINA will be available, uninterrupted, or supported on every device or OS version, and we may stop publishing it.
MACHINA relies on services we do not control — Apple, Expo, and RevenueCat — as described in the Privacy Policy. Their terms and privacy policies govern their own handling of data, and we are not responsible for them. Where you send an exported file, the receiving app or service’s terms govern it.
MACHINA — its name, design, artwork, copy, and code — belongs to Kim Roland Berame. These terms grant you no rights in it beyond the licence above. The records you enter remain yours.
To the fullest extent the law allows, MACHINA is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app is error-free, that its calculations are correct for your motorcycle, or that reminders will be delivered.
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost, corrupted, or unrecoverable data, lost profits, mechanical damage, injury, or loss arising from your use of — or reliance on — the app, its reminders, its Health Report, or any file it exports.
Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us for the app in the twelve months before the claim, or USD 25, whichever is greater.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, and you may have consumer rights in your country that these terms do not affect.
You may stop using MACHINA at any time by deleting it — which also deletes your data on that device. This licence ends if you breach these terms.
We may update these terms as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. This does not remove any mandatory consumer protection you have in your own country of residence.
